Song Hun Nam

Song Hun Nam is an inspiring pianist, teacher and conductor. A native of South Korea, he received Bachelor and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music(CCM), where he studied with William Black. During his college years, Song was an undergraduate and graduate scholarship recipient and won prizes from several competitions including the McEloy Piano Competition. He has also studied with prestigious faculty and performers such as: Richard Fields, Frank Weinstock, Richard Morris, and chamber music with musicians such as James Tocco, Peter Oundjian(Tokyo String Quartet), Henry Myer(LaSalle Quartet), Yehuda Hanani, Donna Lowey and Sandra Rivers.

Song is an adjunct professor of piano at Northern Kentucky University(NKU), and a faculty member of NKU's Music Preparatory Department. His students have won numerous prizes and scholarships, most recently CCM concerto competitions and National Merit Scholarship. In 2006, he was honorably awarded special recognition by graduating seniors at NKU as having the greatest impact on their academic and personal development. As a conductor and organist, he holds a position as Music director at St. Thomas Church in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky where he directs the St. Thomas Choir and Contemporary Liturgical Ensemble. He is a Founding Teacher of the National Music Certificate Program, formerly known as Royal Conservatory of Music RACE program. He is also an active member of National Association of Pastoral Musicians, Ohio Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, and American Choral Directors Association.

Song began teaching piano at the Cincinnati String Academy in 2006 and enjoys an active studio of children and adult students.
