Jenny Cluggish Leong
"It is the supreme art of a teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." – Albert EinsteinIn 2005 Ms. Leong received her BM in Music Education and Violin from the College- Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati where she studied with Dr. Won- Bin Yim under the Dorothy Delay method. A native of Cincinnati, Ms. Leong began violin studies at the age of five and studied with several members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra throughout high school. In 2000 she went to study in New York where she got involved in teaching in the Rochester New York City School Strings Program. Since then Ms. Leong has been teaching private lessons, group classes, and ensembles to children and adults of all ages. She is a member of the Suzuki Association and American String Teachers Association. She has received training in books one through five of the Suzuki Method under the direction of Ed Krietman and Michelle George as well as training in Music Mind Games with Michiko Yurko In addition to teaching, Ms. Leong is a freelance musician in the Cincinnati area. She has played with several area symphonies including the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Springfield Symphony, and the Clermont Philharmonic. When she is not teaching or playing the violin she can be found making Cappuccinos and Lattes at the Fair Trade Coffee House where she volunteers with her husband. Ms. Leong teaches Suzuki Violin and Traditional Violin for the center as well as in the Touchstone Program.
