Suhnah Yu, Violin
Suhnah Yu is a virtuosic violinist whose brilliant musical talent suits a variety of repertoire from Baroque to Contemporary. Ms. Yu has been exceptionally talented since she began to play the Violin at age 5. She received her Bachelor of Music in Violin performance degree from Seoul National University in her native country of Korea. She also received her Masters and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Violin performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she studied with Dr. Piotr Milewski. Ms. Yu received her cognate in Music Pedagogy which shows her enthusiasm for her teaching. She has been teaching private and group lessons to Suzuki and traditional students of all ages for over a decade. She also has been coaching in a variety of chamber music venues. Ms. Yu is an active performer in both chamber ensemble and orchestra. She was a formal member of iUVENIS and Collegia Musica Seoul Chamber from 1995 to 2001 in Seoul, Korea and Queen City Virtuosi 2003 to 2005 in Cincinnati. She was also invited to Verbier Music Orchestra Festival in Switzerland in 1995 with full scholarship as a representative of Korea. Ms. Yu is a current faculty member of the Cincinnati String Academy at the Center for the Arts in Wyoming where she is a Suzuki violin teacher and also teaches in the Touchstone Project and has a traditional violin studio.
