Dr. Terry Durbin, Violin
Dr. Timothy (Terry) Durbin is one of the most sought after clinicians/conductors in the country, bringing smiles and laughter to over 700 workshops and institutes throughout his career. He teaches violin in the Preparatory Department at the University of Louisville and beginning Fall 2007 will be teaching violin and conducting at The Center for the Arts, Wyoming. He is a composer who has written many works for string instruments. He has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Germany, Italy, China and Malaysia and has recorded two CDs, the most recent being the complete chamber music of Marcel Dupre for the Naxos label. Dr. Durbin received his undergraduate degree in violin performance from the University of Alabama and his Masters in violin performance from the University of Illinois. He lives on 61 acres north of Lexington, Kentucky and recently completed his DMA in orchestral conducting from Claremont Graduate University in Los Angeles, California. Terry and his wife Sandy have three children and two grandchildren. Terry is a believer in the magic and power of music to enrich us and make our lives more meaningful and beautiful.
